THE STORY

The Full Story

Known for their high energy and electric feel,

The Drip embodies an era of Rock that is destined

for revival. Inspired by bands like Black Sabbath,

Motorhead, and Jimi Hendrix; The Sunset Drip’s

music propels you on a time machine to the

classic rock era of the 1970s, adding their modern

twist, to create an entire new era of rock music.

Mick Moss (lead vocals/bass) and Brando Gear

(lead guitar/vocals) met in the Montreal music

scene while both involved in other projects. They moved in together and created their own recording studio, LackHaüs Records, by the age of twenty three. In May 2018; their other projects dissolved and they created The Sunset Drip with fellow Montreal musician, Anthony Valmora (drummer).

Over the next two years, they created music and

played the downtown Montreal circuit. The band used the global pandemic starting in 2020 to continue writing music for their first EP; Bad Driver, which was released in June 2021, mastered and mixed by members of The Damn Truth, Tom Shemer and Dave Traina. Their title track “Where is the Sun” landed coverage with major local media, such as The Suburban, The Montreal Gazette, and Montreal’s #1 FM rock radio Chom 97.7, where the song remained for 40 weeks. CBC Radio 1 interviewed Moss on a nationwide broadcast and host Duke Eatmon commented on how the band is “...Dripping with character…”. That summer, the band toured in Canada, creating noise and fans along the way.
